How to Opt In

You opt in to SMS notifications on justtextme.app through one of two paths: (1) during account setup, or (2) later via your account settings. In both cases, you enter your phone number, check a consent checkbox, and verify your number with a one-time SMS code. SMS notifications are only sent after you have explicitly provided consent and verified your phone number.

The consent checkbox includes the following disclosure text:

I agree to receive SMS notifications from Just Text Me when my email rules match. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out. Consent is not a condition of purchase. View our SMS Terms, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy.

Below are screenshots of the actual consent screens users see. Note that the consent checkbox is unchecked by default — users must actively check it before they can proceed. Providing a phone number is optional; users can skip this step entirely.

What Messages Will I Receive?

By opting in to Just Text Me SMS notifications, you may receive the following types of text messages:

  • Email match alerts — Notifications when an incoming email matches one of your custom rules (e.g., "Just Text Me: “25% off coupon at HAVN” — From: HAVN (deals@havn.com) — Subject: Flash Sale 25% Off Everything").
  • Phone verification codes — A one-time code to verify your phone number during account setup (e.g., "Your Just Text Me verification code is: 482931. This code expires in 10 minutes.").
  • Opt-in confirmation — A welcome message after you verify your phone number (e.g., "Welcome to Just Text Me! You'll receive alerts when emails match your rules. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.").

Message frequency varies based on the number of rules you create and the volume of matching emails. You control how many rules are active at any time.

How to Opt Out

You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time by using any of these methods:

  • Text any of these keywords to our number: STOP, CANCEL, END, OPTOUT, QUIT, REVOKE, STOPALL, or UNSUBSCRIBE. You will receive a confirmation: "You have successfully been unsubscribed from Just Text Me. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe."
  • Remove your phone number from your account settings at justtextme.app.
  • Pause or delete your notification rules.
  • Delete your account entirely.

How to Re-Subscribe

If you previously opted out, you can opt back in by texting START, UNSTOP, or YES to our number. You will receive a confirmation: "You are now subscribed to Just Text Me alerts. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Terms: https://justtextme.app/sms-terms"

Help

Text HELP or INFO to our number for assistance. You will receive: "Just Text Me: For help, email support@justtextme.app or visit https://justtextme.app/sms-terms. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out."

Privacy

We will not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in/opt-out information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number is shared with our SMS service provider (Twilio) solely for the purpose of delivering messages on our behalf.
